The pad for SPI-Flash on the WeAct-f411ce does not come pre-populated.
The user has to manually solder a SPI-flash chip on the board, so specifying
a size here makes no sense.
Instead, rely on automatic detection of the flash size at run-time.

nrf52840dk: move SPI flash to SPIM2 peripheral

The SPIM1 peripheral overlaps with TWIM1. TWIM1 is already configured as
the default peripheral for the I2C interface. This commit moves the
peripheral used for the SPI flash to SPIM2. This peripheral is dedicated
for SPI operations and doesn't conflict with other peripherals

...
PA7 is the default MOSI pin, as it is required for compatibility with
Arduino(ish) shields. Sadly, it is also connected to the RMII_DV of
Ethernet PHY. This commit works around this by remapping the MOSI to PB5 when
the on-board Ethernet PHY is used.

The AVR Dragon, previously the cheapest debugger/programmer for AVR, is out of
production. The default debugger for AVR devices has been changed to the Atmel
ICE, the now cheapest debugger option. The commit updates the documentation
accordingly.
Additionally the default programmer is changed to the Atmel ICE for consistency.
The doc is updated accordingly.

stm32f1 periph_rtc implementation gets a 1s resolution by dividing
CLOCK_LSx by 32768. This only make sense if CLOCK_LSE is set,
otherwise CLOCK_LSI=~40000, which will lead to an imprecise rtc.

named the PIC32MX clicker. To avoid any confusion between the two boards, pic32-clicker

nrf52 includes include $(RIOTBOARD)/$(BOARD)/Makefile.dep to know
if `nordic_softdevice_ble` is used, this changes dependency
resolution sinnce -include $(APPDIR)/Makefile.board.dep should
be resolved before.
This can be removed once #9913 is if `nordic_softdevice` is
deprecated.

drivers/kw41zrf: Transceiver driver for the KW41Z radio
...
This is the radio found in NXP Kinetis KW41Z, KW21Z. Only 802.15.4 mode
is implemented (KW41Z also supports BLE on the same transceiver).
The driver uses vendor supplied initialization code for the low level
XCVR hardware, these files were imported from KSDK 2.2.0 (framework_5.3.5)

According to the pinout the rx and tx pin need to be the other way around.
Though the swapped tx and rx pins allow the uart to work in loopback, it is still not correct.
The PA10 functions as an RX pin even though PA10 states TX pin in the periph_conf.
With this fixed the pullup for the rx is configured correctly and noise doesn't trigger the line.
This change sets the .tx_pin from PA10 to PA9 and the .rx_pin from PA9 to PA10.

boards/{nucleo-f103rb,b*pill}: Expose JTAG pins as GPIOs

The Nucleo-F103RB comes with an internal SWD programmer/debugger. Thus, the JTAG
pins are not going to be used for debugging / programming anyway. The pins are
exposed on the headers, so allowing them to be used as GPIOs make a lot of
sense.
The Bluepill / Blackpill boards only expose the SWD pins on the debug header,
but the JTAG pins (not also used by SWD) are exposed on the GPIO pin headers.
Hence, exposing them as regular GPIOs seems to be a reasonable choice.

All we need is:
- The Texas Instruments version of OpenOCD
(https://git.ti.com/cgit/sdo-emu/openocd )
- Set the `PROGRAMMER` environment variable to `openocd`.
- Connect a cc1312-launchpad and play with the commands.

an emulated Real Time Clock.
Got all supported boards by adding `FEATURES_REQUIRED += arch_8bit`
to `tests/periph_rtt` and running

FEATURES_PROVIDED += periph_rtc\n
FEATURES_PROVIDED += periph_rtt/g'
on them.

This board is driven by a 16MHz clock source. In this case, the baud rate generator is able to clock the SPI interface with 4MHz or 8MHz only.
Due to integer division and rounding, the interface is actually driven with 8MHz, which is too fast for the AT86RF212.

Since a number of applications rely on the existence of the BTN0_PIN definition, the BUTTON0_PIN definition has been renamed to BTN0_PIN to make the ESP32 boards compatible with these applications. However, for compatibility with earlier versions, BUTTON0_PIN is still defined as an alias of BTN0_PIN.

boards/same54-xpro: don't source peripheral clocks from main clock

Use the dedicated 48 MHz clock as a source for the peripheral clocks.
This was already done for I2C to allow it to work despite the 120 MHz
main clock.
Not running the peripherals off the main clock will allow for dynamic
re-clocking of the main clock in the future, without affecting the
operation of the peripherals.
It also gives more flexibility to the main clock selection in general.

- This allows flashing a board having an MCU different to the one
RIOT was compiled for

risk associated with this
- the avrdude flag -D is dropped
- This disables issuing an erase command during flashing, however this
erase cycle is strictly required to be able to program the flash
- This is only needed in case of the stk500v2 bootloader, which implicitly
does the erase cycle and fails if explicitly asked to do so
- Only for the stk500v2 bootloader this flag is now added

for each ATmega based board individually
- Introduce the makefile variable BOOTLOADER to de-duplicate flash configs:
- Two boards using the same bootloader now just use `BOOTLOADER ?= foo`
and share the individual config
- These settings are not applied when `PROGRAMMER` is set to still allow
users to manually specify how to program their board

cpu/sam0: don't hard-code peripheral clocks

Instead of hard-coding the peripheral clocks to CLOCK_CORECLOCK
introduce helper functions to return the frequency of the individual
GCLKs and use those for baud-rate calculations.
This requires the GCLK to be part of the peripheral's config struct.
While this is already the case for most peripherals, this also adds
it for those where it wasn't used before.
As it defaults to 0 (CLOCK_CORECLOCK) no change is to be expected.

...
openocd configuration file for `stm32f7` relies on probing to find out
FLASH_ADDR. On nucleo-f767zi board probing (`flash probe 0`) fails when
`srst` is asserted, but `srst` needs to be asserted to be able to flash
the `BOARD` when sleeping or after a hardfault.
To circumvent this in boards/common/stm32/dist/stm32f7.cfg we define a new
flash bank with the appropriate fash start address and specify that this is
the flash bank to be used as default configuration instead of the
default by setting FLASH_BANK=4

The CC26x2 and CC13x2 share the same register definitions, and both are
treated equally in the TI's technical reference manual. [1]
- To avoid confusions in the future I renamed it to `cc26x2_cc13x2`.
- Documentation was updated.
- The `cc1312-launchpad` board that uses the `cc13x2` MCU was updated.
- The `cc1352-launchpad` board that uses the `cc13x2` MCU was updated.

For the ATmega platform the ADC lines are not defined according to the GPIOs. Instead, they are defined from 0 to ADC_NUMOF-1, which in turn represents the bit in the corresponding ADC registers. The mapping from the line number to the corresponding ADC register/bit combination is done implicitly by the periph/adc implementation.

With the new toolchain version required to fix issue #13133 , the compilation of `examples/posix_socket` fails due to a C linkage error in `atomic_base.h`. The reason is that including `drivers/include/mtd.h` in `boards/esp32/board_common.h` inside the `extern C` block finally leads to including `atomic_base.h` inside the `extern C` block which in turn to the C linkage error for the template definitions in this file.

It causes errors on current Renode versions. It wasn't documented on the
Renode changelog, but SetClockSource property was removed. Before this
change it showed this error:
There was an error executing command 'machine SetClockSource cpu'
machine does not provide a field, method or property SetClockSource.

The MCB2388 Evaluation Board is a development board for the LPC2388 MCU.
LPC2388 and LPC2387 are very simmilar, the only difference is added USB Host
support.
Since this is not used yet, I chose to just pretend it's an lpc2387.
So far, only the two UARTs, LEDs and LCD display are configured.

Without this change a RIOT application compiled with all-asan will
segfault as RIOT provides its own malloc by default. Add a define for
disabling custom malloc, calloc and realloc implementations and use it
when compiling with all-asan.

GCC now warns when snprintf()ing a buffer that, together with the
format string, might be larger than the destination buffer.
To fix this increase the size of the destination buffer so that
the source buffer and the format string will always fit - 32 bytes
are enough.

Due to the super high values resistors being used for the external

It is the 2.4 GHz radial that can be switched between the CC2538 and the AT86RF215.

boards/atmega_common: remove weak led_init()

`led_init()` is already protected by an `#ifdef`, so no need for
the weak symbol.
The problem is that the weak function does not get overridden, even when
the board provides it's own led_init(), resulting in no LEDs being
initialized.

...
The particle-{argon,boron,xenon} all have a uFL connector and a PCB
antenna for 2.4GHz radio, connected by a SKY13351-378LF switch
configured by a VCTL[12] pin pair.
This sets the default configuration to use the PCB antenna, as driving
an unconnected antenna will deteriorate radio performance.

The ATmega1284P can be run on a breadboard with no external components, except
for a power supply and (if access to the serial is required) an USB-TTL adapter.
This commit adds it as a "board".

The 'msba2' common files have accumulated many empty files are files that
do nothing.
This makes reasoning about the boards needlessly difficult.
Trim down on `common/msba2/` so that it now only contains the setup for the
UART/bootloader based flashing.
This should eventuelly be moved to `makefiles/tools/`

The ATmega328p on a breadboard can have various frequencies depending on
the fuse settings and whether and which crystal is connected. Thus, finding a
fixed xtimer frequency that can be configured for every CPU core clock with the
available prescalers is not possible. Therefore, the fixed frequency is replaced
by a frequency depending on the CPU clock speed. For CPU clock frequency of
more than 4 MHz a prescaler of 64 will be chosen (same as on the Arduino Uno),
for 4 MHz and less a prescaler of 8 will be chosen.

There is no hardware limitation for custom boards based on STM32 to uses
SPI bus with signals coming from different PORT and alternate functions.
This patch allow alternate's function definition per pin basis, thus enable
the support of SPI bus signals routed on differents PORT.

Right now the gain and reference are hard coded. Until it is configurable
at runtime prefer the same default as with Arduino Core. That is,
GAIN_DIV2 and REFSEL_INTVCC1. This way we can properly measure the
battery voltage.
