If FLASHFILE is set keep the original value.
It changes the variable from an immediate to a deferred variable but if
murdocks keeps working there is no issue.
There are two major reasons for this:
1. clang picks up different errors sometimes than GCC.
2. OSX support is hardened as it is usually the toolchain used there.
